What our directory verifies.

The November 2, 2026 capture includes all 14 pages of the ACOTE U.S. directory: 670 source records, including 433 OT program/location records (234 doctoral and 199 master’s). These are not 433 distinct institutions or 433 currently open applications.

Two separate layers of verification

Roster verification checks name, degree, location, status, and source notes against the captured ACOTE listing. Admissions review checks individual facts against the institution’s pages. Each fact has a source and review date; missing facts remain unknown.

The roster contains 318 records labeled Accreditation, 10 Accreditation-Inactive, and 105 developing records. It includes 28 records with a bridge label. Mailing-address state does not capture every teaching location.

Known source issues

ACOTE’s summary page and live directory totals differ. We use the fully reconciled live capture. Thirteen source program links are missing or malformed; these remain marked for review. UND Casper has two doctoral records with differing statuses and addresses; both are retained with an unresolved conflict label. Original source notes are available on every profile, including transition and withdrawal-request notes.

What a source date means

A date records the last check, not a guarantee of ongoing accuracy. Site-visit years are accreditation review schedules, never application deadlines. Distance percentages are ACOTE labels, not promises that a program can be completed online.

Maintenance process

Our pipeline preserves the original capture and a hash, checks page coverage and unique identities, separates OTA-only entries, and creates a review queue for changed or missing evidence. Proposed cadence: monthly roster reconciliation and more frequent admissions checks during application periods. Automated checks detect reachable pages and changes; a reviewer must approve changed admissions facts. Scheduled production monitoring is not active yet.
